Nominated for the Culture Prize 2025: Tiefenstein Music Association

The Tiefenstein Music Society was founded in 1879 as the Hettstein Music Society and will celebrate its 145th anniversary in 2024. This makes it one of the oldest clubs in the city. In 2004, it was awarded the Pro Musica plaque on the occasion of its 125th anniversary.

With his inspiring ideas, conductor Martin Wendel always manages to create very special concerts with the Orchestra of Generations. Younger musicians can also take their first steps in the youth orchestra under the direction of Martin Wendel.

We celebrated major highlights with our open-air concerts in 2023 and 2024 as well as the concert in 2025 in the municipal theater together with two young singing talents from Idar-Oberstein. In addition to these major events and the traditional annual concert on Christmas Day, we also perform at the town's Christmas party for senior citizens and at the Christmas tree-raising in the Tiefenstein district.

It is not only the music that is important, but also the shared togetherness that is experienced throughout the year in extra-musical events. With this diversity, the Tiefenstein Music Association makes a lasting contribution to the cultural life of the town of Idar-Oberstein.
