Mayor Frank Frühauf and IHK boss Christina Schwardt met with Caroline Pehlke and Sarah Wagner from the city's business development department in Idar. During the joint tour, they visited the companies Optik Messerschmidt, Bellas Secondhand Boutique, Sanitätshaus Gillmann, B-Style Hairartist, Klassic Design and Marion's Teelädchen. It became clear how versatile and lively shopping can be in the core city areas. "During our company visits, we experienced motivated owners and employees and their competent advice. Employees and customers alike were happy to have a personal word," said Sarah Wagner, summarizing her impressions. "It was also very nice to see how well the after-work events organized by Citymood were received in Idar, which shows that a revitalization of the inner cities is definitely appreciated by the population," added Caroline Pehlke.
"Shopping at home makes for lively city centers! Shopping and gastronomy characterize the cityscape, attract people to the city and contribute to the fact that citizens feel comfortable in Idar-Oberstein," describes Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf.
"By shopping regionally, we can all make a contribution to promoting the vibrancy of our city. Our homeland needs trade - it is both the heart and the meeting place. There is also great potential in Idar-Oberstein: with gemstones, our sights and culinary specialties such as spit roast. It is crucial that we work together to present the positive aspects of our town to the outside world and actively promote them," says IHK Regional Managing Director Christina Schwardt.
