A canceled flight forces two completely different people, who have to share the last available rental car, on a road trip from Munich to Berlin: the well-adjusted teacher Livius, who wants to save his marriage, and the impulsive journalist Lea, who prefers to live life like it's her last day. What begins as an emergency solution turns into a wild journey full of absurd encounters: rescued pigs, elderly people caught off guard, a luxury stay for the homeless, a Chechen wellness guru - and a cell phone that regularly sends spicy pictures to Livius' wife at the wrong time.
Despite all the comedy, star author Sebastian Fitzek also poses very existential questions about meaning, commitment, individuality and followership in his novel "The First Last Day". At the end, an unforeseen twist awaits the audience, allowing them to see the world with different eyes.
